JVC’s ProHD cameras nominated for IABM Design Awards
JVC Professional Europe Ltd. is pleased to announce that its new camcorders, the GY-HM100 and GY-HM700, have been nominated as finalists for the IABM Design Awards 2009.
Entered in the competition as ‘The world's first Final Cut Pro-ready solid-state camcorders’, the GY-HM100 and
GY-HM700 have impressed judges with their innovative design and practicality, which allows users to record files
directly to solid state media in the native format used by Apple's Final Cut Pro™ editing system.
This enables recorded material to be edited directly from inexpensive, readily-available SDHC Class 6 memory cards, without file conversion or transcoding, dramatically reducing the
amount of time required to edit programmes together and offering the fastest shoot-to-edit workflow available.
JVC will be showcasing both camcorders at this year’s IBC show in Amsterdam alongside other ground-breaking broadcast equipment, where the IABM judges will make their final decision.
The IABM Design Award, which attracts entrants from across the globe, acknowledges products that offer innovative solutions to the industry and is judged by an independent international panel of experts, who will announce the winner on 12 September during IBC.
